As New South Wales' bushfire crisis continues, organisers made the decision to cancel the event in the interests of all clubs.
Clubs such as Wauchope-Bonny Hills started rounds one and two of the North Coast Surfboat Series with successful results a few weeks ago.
Their under-19 girls crew won four races from five starts to finish as winners while the club's men's A-crew won the pointscore by a solitary point.
Club spokesman Wayne Gill said while they only won one race from eight it was their consistent performances across the two rounds that saw them finish on top.
"They're going to be a really good crew for us this season and the girls won in the open division which was great," he said.
"They're still in the under-19s."
Action hopefully returns next weekend for the next round of the North Coast series which will join with the Streets Series with crews from Newcastle and Central Coast to converge on Scotts Head.
