The event has been organised by Bar Cappella, Port Macquarie's choir-in-a-pub and will be hosted at Settlers Inn. It's a fundraiser for Hastings Neighbourhood Services.
Choir member Ruth Allen said they're expecting around 200 people to join in singing disco anthem Gloria Gaynor's "I will survive".
The pub choir craze started in Canada and has taken off worldwide.
Ms Allen said there's an addictive thrill which comes with mass singing.
"There's an amazing sense of connection and an incredible energy in the room when you sing with such a big group," she said.
"The anonymity means you can lose your singing inhibitions and just go for it."
Ms Allen said the lead up to Christmas has been devastating for many families, with bushfires impacting the Mid North Coast region.
She said this is an opportunity for the community to come together, support one another and have some fun through a happy activity.
"We're putting the fun into fundraising," Ms Allen said.
The power of community singing, Ms Allen said should not be underestimated as it has proven benefits for mental wellbeing.
Ms Allen said the "I will survive" song unites the community through the bushfire crisis, with the message of community resilience and getting through the tough times together.
Tickets for the event are $10 and available online from Trybooking.
Funds raised will go towards the Hastings Neighbourhood Services' Homework Hubs project.
This service brings parents and children together at after school, to provide support with literacy and numeracy.
It helps parents to improve their skills and confidence to help children at home, and increase school retention.
Port Macquarie Neighbourhood Centre coordinator Julie Trowbridge said it's a new service that is set to kick off early in 2020.
"Bar Cappella's financial support will allow us to provide educational incentives to the families to encourage them to participate in the program," she said.
"It will also assist them financially by providing back packs, school supplies, lunch boxes and drink bottles."
The event on Sunday, December 8 starts at 5pm. Children under 18-years-old are welcome with a singing, supervising adult.
There will be prizes for the best and most outrageously dressed.
