More than 200 surf life savers will compete from under-8s up to masters divisions across a variety of disciplines on both the sand and in the water.
They will accumulate points across the three rounds in the swim, board, junior and senior iron person, flags, sprints and ski races.
Round two and three are expected to take place in January and again in February.
The day starts at 8.30am with the juniors before the seniors commence at 11.30am.
