The duo will add to an already long list of sporting achievements with Drewitt picked in the under-15 girls team while Smith will line up in the under-15 boys team.
Drewitt was previously selected in the New South Wales under-15 side for the national outdoor championships earlier this year and has previously been named in the under-13 indoor and outdoor state teams.
"I'm playing with all the same girls so it's pretty much the same as in outdoor hockey," she said.
"I haven't been training that much lately because it's in the off season but I'm going to get back into it.
"Being selected for state teams is all about maintaining fitness and training. You have to do training and do your fitness in your own time."
Smith has also been a regular member in state selectors' sights with selections in representative under-13 outdoor teams and under-13 indoor teams.
"It's going to be good and I'm keen to get going," he said.
"Indoor hockey is a lot quicker and smaller. It's not a lot less running but it's a lot quicker whereas outdoor is about being patient before you go in (for the goal).
"Being selected is achieved through a lot of training. I focus on just being at hockey most weekends and training with people older than myself. Playing with people better than me to push myself further."
The two Tacking Point Thunder players will make their appearance on the state indoor teams in Wollongong from January 22 to 26 next year.
