The disappearance of Ruth Ridley was reported to officers on Wednesday, October 30, by a family member who held grave concerns for her welfare.
She is described as being Caucasian in appearance, about 175cm tall with a thin build, fair complexion and blonde hair.
Police believe Mrs Ridley, aged 58, travelled from her home in Port Macquarie to Tumbarumba on Friday, October 18, in a dark blue Mitsubishi Pajero.
The Pajero has since been found on Shelley Road, Shelley in Victoria, on Tuesday, October 29, with the body of a 61-year-old man - who is known to the missing woman - inside.
The caravan was also located in Tumbarumba on Wednesday, October 30.
A crime scene was established by Victorian Police who are leading the investigation into the circumstances of his death. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Police are seeking information regarding any members of the public who may have been camping at or in the vicinity of Neil's Reserve, seven kilometres east from Walwa in Victoria on the Murray River on the weekend of October 26-27.
Also, if anyone noticed the Mitsubishi Pajero towing the caravan between Walwa and Tumbarumba on Sunday, October 27, contact Crime stoppers or their local police station.
