The match was played at Oxley Oval on Tuesday, October 29.
MacKillop won the toss and strode to the crease on a very good batting wicket.
Openers Alex Horder and Tom Connolly immediately set about producing a strong total, celebrating an opening stand of 77 runs.
Horder reached his half-century and was immediately dismissed, while Connolly maintained a respectable 20 runs.
Batsman Vaughan Lickley stacked on some runs of his own with a top score of 52.
MacKillop was eventually all out for a solid 195 runs in the 50th over.
St Joseph's chase was off to a slow start and completely collapsed by the 25th over. They were dismissed for 55 runs.
Jared Humphreys worked wonders to snare five wickets for six runs from his seven overs.
Tom Connolly chipped in with two wickets for seven runs from four overs, including two maidens.
Riley Mallyon finished with the figures of two for 14 from four overs.
The 140 run victory takes MacKillop College to the second round of the Downie Shield against St. Paul's Kempsey.
MacKillop College previously faced St. Paul's in November last year, the match was replayed after a lightning storm and two rain stoppages affected play.
