The incident allegedly took place on August 25, 2019 where Furner was attending the hospital under the supervision of corrections officers.
Furner, 28 of Aldavilla Road, Aldavilla, appeared in the Port Macquarie Local Court before Magistrate Price on October 24.
Bail was not applied for and was refused.
Furner has been charged with, escaping lawful custody, assaulting an officer and common assault, stealing a car, two counts of larceny, entering lands, driving dangerously during a police pursuit, driving recklessly or dangerously, driving while disqualified and driving a car with false number plates.
Magistrate Price adjourned the matter to the same court on December 5.
