The development, including nine cinemas, is earmarked for land on the corner of Park and Warlters streets near Kmart.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council required some amendments after completing an initial assessment of the development application.
The council has received amended plans and supporting information.
The community can comment on the amended plans with the development application on exhibition from October 17 to 30.
United Cinemas CEO Sam Mustaca said they had listened to the community and listened to the council.
The amended proposal is the result.
Mr Mustaca said United Cinemas was still very happy with the proposed development.
It would bring a world-class facility and service to Port Macquarie, Mr Mustaca said.
The proposal includes nine cinemas, food and drink premises, gymnasium, fun fair indoor recreation facility and other retail uses.
The basement car wash has been removed from the proposed development.
The nautical themed-style building would span four levels excluding the basement.
Development application documentation outlines the amendments.
They include a reduction in the level three floor area, fewer cinema seats (1343 down from 1418), porthole windows facing Park Street and multiple breaks in the roof outline.
The drive-through queuing area is larger, the ground floor shops are stepped back from the boundary on the Park Street side, the building height is lower and louvres have been added.
The proposal includes Aboriginal marine-themed public artwork.
Additional traffic and parking analysis has been submitted as well as an economic impact statement and a detailed view analysis including panoramic photographs and drone footage.
Planet Warriewood/United Cinemas, a chain of cinemas owned and operated by the Mustaca family, is behind the proposal.
Majestic Cinemas is preparing a submission in opposition to the amended proposal.
Majestic Cinemas CEO Kieren Dell said the revised proposal didn't fix any of the issues raised in Majestic Cinemas' previous submission.
The council received a petition with 3000 signatories objecting to the proposal and 200 submissions when the original development application went on exhibition.
The amended development application is on exhibition at Port Macquarie-Hastings Council until Wednesday, October 30.
A detailed assessment will follow the exhibition period with the Northern Regional Planning Panel to determine the application.
