We have a lot of farmers on our doorstep who are on the brink of going down emotionally and financially with this drought.

I sent a life saving grocery drop to Wingham on Sunday and a lot of it I purchased myself as I didn't have a lot of groceries at home to box from the donations.
I had a lady hear my call in the radio for someone to drive the goods down and she gave me $50 for our farmer.
This family didn't even have dish liquid!
I heard about a 94 year old farmer today in Wingham who has all his finances tied up in land and can't get a pension as he's deemed too rich!
This old man goes into town once a week and has some kind person give him groceries to keep him going.
How the hell have we let this happen to our farmers!
We have Wingham farmers and Hastings farmers who are quietly slipping away and animals suffering with starvation.
Our farmers are living like third world people you see on your TV and we eat, drink their products with no idea this is happening.
We should all be ashamed of ourselves!
This town is waking up but for some it's too late.
