There was lots of fun and food on offer for the community at Macquarie Park on October 17 as people got involved in a friendly round robin soccer competition.

Ashlee Law from Northcott disability services and support organisation said they had been keen to jump on the day from the start.

"We primarily deal with babies and children up to the age of seven but community days like this are really valuable so people know where they can go if they need help," Ms Law said.

"Anything that gets people together for a good reason is something we want to be part of and we have had lots of positive conversations with people today which is wonderful."

The event is in October to coincide with mental health awareness month and organisers say the day is all about cutting down the stigma associated with mental health and eliminating the barrier between consumers of mental health services and the community

Chris Harris was also at the event and said it was great to see the community coming together to promote mental health services.

"For me it is about giving back to a community which has been so great to me," Mr Harris said.

"It is an awesome event which is bring people from all walks of life together for a great, fun day."

Along with service providers the Big Red Bus was also in attendance serving food to everyone.

Organiser Ashley McIntosh said it was great to see so many people coming out in support of mental health.

"We are really pleased with how many people have come out and the weather this morning has been marvellous so we can't complain," Mr McIntosh said.

"This day is about bring the community and local service providers together to promote talking about mental health and health in general.

"Today we had people from Port Macquarie, Wauchope, the Camden Haven, Kempsey and Taree come together and we can't wait for next year."
