This is the second consecutive year that the stellar team from Hastings Public has achieved this result and the team are over the moon.
Debate champions Poppy MacIntyre, Sofia Mansfield, Kaeleb Morris and Zake Morris are now gearing up to take on the state championship in November.
"We went to Nambucca Heads which was fun and we had a little look around before everything got serious," Poppy said.
"We met the other team from Grafton and we had to pick two of three topics to debate on and in the end we had to debate whether we should only pick good role models for our professional sports."
"We didn't get to pick what side we debated and after a coin toss to be the affirmative team," Kaeleb said.
"We focused our arguments on wanting better role models for kids, having a fairer game and it would be easier for coaches to train good people."
The panel of three adjudicators were unanimous in their decision to award the win to the debateinaters.
"I love debating because you get to travel to all these interesting places, meet new people and have a lot of fun as well," Sofia said.
"Driving to the events we get to play music in the car and explore new places with friends which is awesome," Zake said.
The team now have one month to prepare for the Premiers Debating State Championships to be held at Stanwell Tops Convention Centre from November 17 - 20.
