Firefighters were called out to the motor vehicle fire on Commerce Street in Wauchope around 1.32am on Thursday, October 17.
Fire and Rescue Wauchope acting captain Mark Platts said crews were shocked to discover a early model luxury Cadillac with personalised number plates well alight.
"It was an old Cadillac, which is unusual to see because we mostly deal with fires involving more modern cars," he said.
"I've never seen this type of older type vehicle on fire before. She was well and truly alight by the time we got there.
"I don't know the year of it but obviously it is a classic of some sort. It's a bit of a shock to see an old classic like that on fire."
Mr Platts said the fire was extinguished within an hour of the call out and the cause of the fire is unknown.
Police were contacted for comment.
