The spring fair is a major fundraising held every two years for the Parents and Citizens Association to fund projects such as a covered outdoor learning area worth more than $140,000.
Hastings Public School principal Jodie Paterson said everyone is invited to come and enjoy the fete.
"The support the local community has shown has been tremendous," she said.
"We encourage as many people as possible to come along, support our school at this event and have a great family fun day out."
Families can enjoy pony rides, food, refreshments, arts, games, face painting, plants, a jumping castle, pre-loved treasures, chocolate wheel and raffle from 10am to 2pm.
Visitors can also look forward to raffle and sideshow alley prizes donated by residents and businesses.
"This year and the previous fete we have been focusing on a covered outdoor learning area, which will be constructed over the netball courts," said one of the organisers, Katie Wilson.
"The school was lucky to receive two grants this year, one from the Port City Bowling Club and one from the My Community Project to fund the construction.
"The courts are used for multiple things at the school such as bus lines, physical education, sports, outdoor learning and stage three students have their lunch in that area. This will become a covered area for students to learn and play.
"The P and C will fund the finishing off such as the landscaping, the electrical, the water, the PA system, sporting equipment and additional items to make the sporting area a great place."
