The Ruins Way Park Playground has been covered in graffiti, frustrating Port Macquarie residents in the area.
Tags and spray painted slogans stretch over slides, a tunnel, a climbing wall, a playhouse and numerous benches at the park, near Innes Lake winery and Little Fish Cafe.
The Ruins Way resident Dave James said the park was a popular spot for families and it had been graffitied within the last two weeks.
"It's massively used, particularly on weekends when people come to set up picnics," he said.
"Older people are also down there playing basketball as well and you often get some young kids hanging out there in the dark.
"It's disappointing that we all have this lovely park and people just want to wreck it for no reason. It's just really silly."
Another resident of The Ruins Way, who did not want to be identified said the playground is well-used and this was the latest in a long run of attacks on parks in town.
"I live near there and walk past the park everyday," they said.
"I think it's like the sixth or seventh attack on parks now, there was one at Westport and one at Lake Cathie.
"Every single piece of equipment has been graffitied and a sign across the road that looks like it has been kicked down. It's just so disrespectful.
"It's just going to cost money and we're going to pay for it."
Sitella Street resident Colin Jones said vandals need to be caught in the act
"It's getting worse around town, it's all over town at the moment," he said.
"What can you do about it? because they have to be caught in the act.
"You can call the police but then they have to catch them.
"If they do get caught you're not even allowed to name and shame them.
"It's very disappointing, it's just wrong and it costs everyone for it to get cleaned up."
