Hastings dachshunds have put their dogged determination to the test in a day of racing and fashion for the Spring Dachion Cup 2019.

Athletic sausage dogs sprinted to victory in the cup races before strutting on the catwalk at the Port Macquarie Dachshund Group festival at Sancrox Reserve on October 6.
In a thrilling final cup race dogs, Beatrice, Lily and newcomer Daisy challenged past champion Benny.
Beatrice, the seven-year-old chocolate sausage dog took home the trophy with proud owner, Heather Hutchinson of Harrington.
PMDG spokesperson and founder Jean Ballands said it was a mix new dogs, older veterans and puppies for the races.
"This is one of the events this year aimed to promote interaction and fun with your dachshund," said Mrs Ballands.
"The dachshunds have come such along way from the start of the group in September 2018.
"They now know each other, behave well on leads when walking and can manage different situations well together."
Dachshunds were also treated to a fashion parade wearing miniature clothing, hats and stylish accessories on the day
Designer judge Phillip Moore awarded the fashionable first prize to Digit, a black and tan dog dressed as Elton John.
PMDG meets regularly for walks at locations between North Haven and Wauchope. It also conducts dog therapy visits to Emmaus aged care every Tuesday from 10am.
PMDG is aligned with Dachshund Rescue Australia and aims to find adoptive homes to settle dachshunds in the Port Macquarie area.
