Wall finished in a more than respectable eighth position out of 96 athletes after a 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run in his age group.
"Lausaan was a great experience," he said.
"There were around 5000 athletes who competed all up and in my age group there were 96 boys from 20 countries."
He didn't know what to expect when he headed over there other than just to enjoy the experience and after the first leg he was with the leading pack.
"I came out of the swim in fourth and then didn't really think about how I was going to go; I focused more on the actual race than the result," he said.
"It was a really good experience racing overseas and is probably the best result I've had so far being an overseas race.
"The South American triathletes were very good; however the Europeans ended up being the most dominant in the top 10 so I was really pleased with my end result."
The teenager said in many ways it was different to what he was used to, although there were some similarities.
"You race against people you don't know in a different course, but it was a little more hilly, especially the run leg which I found the most brutal," he said.
His focus now switches to the national circuit in January.
"My next races will be the Australian Junior ITU series where I will be competing in three major races," he said.
"The first race of the series is in Canberra in January and then in March I will compete in Devonport Tasmania.
"The final race will be at New Plymouth for the Oceania Championships."
