Street library representatives and individuals dropped off pre-loved books at Port Macquarie Library in exchange for swap tokens and collected other books in return.
Anne Mangeant and Jacques Bernard from the Riverside Drive street library supported the Big Book Swap on Saturday, October 5 as a way to refresh the street library's stocks.
"It's a small community but we see quite a number of people [at the street library] almost on a daily basis," Mr Bernard said.
Willing and Able Port Macquarie also donated books to the Big Book Swap.
Marketing and programs librarian Kate Forrest said the Big Book Swap was a way of sharing our love of reading and it tied into recycling too.
"We are supporting people in their reading and their love of books," she said.
"It's the library being that place to facilitate community coming together."
