The Hour Without Speech raised money for OIC Cambodia which is dedicated to the development of speech pathology in the Southeast Asian country.
The team members sat in silence during the dinner at Port Macquarie's Blue Whale Eatery on September 19 and communicated through other means including gestures, writing and apps.
The Hour Without Speech provided an experience of what communication difficulties are like.
All Together Therapy speech pathologist and OIC Cambodia board member Katia Ringbauer said everyone reflected on the experience afterwards.
"It helps you build capacity as a professional to understand a little more about the people you are meeting," she said.
All Together Therapy managing director and occupational therapist Pip Cullen said the team really stepped up and non-verbally communicated for the whole hour.
They raised about $400 to support OIC Cambodia.
The Cambodian organisation is working to establish a speech therapy university course, raise awareness and influence government policy.
An agreement was recently signed with the Cambodian government as a step towards the university course in speech therapy.
The aim is to have sustainable speech therapy services in Cambodia by 2030.
