Port Macquarie Oztag Association president Greg Smith said while they had become established at a senior level, the signs were encouraging for the juniors ahead of their third season.
"Oztag is still a growing sport in the juniors," Smith said.
"The sport is getting more and more popular especially with the girls league tag, it's a good way for them to keep their skills up in summer."
Under-10, under-12, under-14 and under-16 competitions will kick off in the next fortnight with the association to hold a skills and drills day at Tuffins Lane.
"It's a chance for players to come and see what it's all about and for those who have already signed up, it's a chance for them to learn a few new drills," Smith said.
"It's the last chance to register ahead of the season."
Players will also have the opportunity to press for selection in the Junior State Cup early next year with representatives from Tamworth to run their eye over players during the skills sessions.
"We're not big enough to stand alone so there will be representatives from Tamworth oztag who will be having a look over some of the players as they pick their State Cup sides for next year," Smith said.
The skills and drills day will run from 10am until 12.30pm on the western side of Tuffins Lane.
