That's according to a poll being conducted by the Port Macquarie News.
Currently the poll shows that 60 per cent of respondents want Town Beach as the site for the proposed tidal pool.
Nineteen per cent said they don't want a tidal pool at all while another 16 per cent opted for Flynns Beach as their preferred site.
Three per cent wanted another beach considered while under one per cent did not have an opinion on a preferred site.
There was about 300 votes lodged by Thursday afternoon. You can find the poll by going here
Tidal pool champion Kathryn Butler said the results showed that Town Beach was obviously a popular choice.
"We will definitely take that into consideration," she said.
"There are thousands and thousands of people who want a tidal pool in Port Macquarie, so we will continue to lobby on their behalf.
"Town Beach is a great location and ticks so many boxes.
"But we are still waiting for some of the environmental reports to come in before we make a final determination," she said.
While she remained positive about the proposal, Ms Butler said had noted many people talking fixing Lake Cathie over the tidal pool.
"It is not our fault that we are getting a tidal pool over fixing Lake Cathie.
"It was never about that," she said.
