At the council meeting held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, council resolved to offer Mr Swift-McNair a new four year contract, commencing in March 2020.
As per the standard contract of employment for general manager's in NSW councils, a decision on whether to offer a new contract to the GM takes place between six and nine months out from the end of the current contract.
Mr Swift-McNair's review recorded a high level of satisfaction with his performance.
The general manager's current contract expires on March 24, 2020.
Mayor Peta Pinson and Mr Swift-McNair have signed the new contract, effective from March 25, 2020 through to March 2024 with a renumeration package totalling $350,487.
The recommendation to renew the general manager's contract was supported by all councillors except for Cr Sharon Griffiths and mayor Peta Pinson. Cr Geoff Hawkins is on a leave of absence.
