Port Macquarie-Hastings Council says stage one works at Flynns Beach are progressing well with the council's contractor on target for completion in November.
Concrete wall pours are complete and ramp slabs and footpaths along the top of the new wall started in the past week.
The shower area decking is also well progressed with the fit-out of internal stairs and finishes to follow over the next month.
Work will then start on the southern staircase, the interface with parking and surrounding landscaping.
Port Macquarie Surf Life Saving Club president Rick Rolff said the seawall would make access easier for surf club members to get equipment to and from the beach.
"I reckon it will be beneficial to the club," he said.
The 80 metre-long seawall will run between the surf club ramp and the car parking area.
The project will provide a wheelchair-friendly pedestrian and vehicle ramp onto the beach.
There will be new beach access stairs from the main car park, refurbished shower area and beach access point, and a footpath behind the new wall linking the car park to the surf club.
