The community had its say on six possible sites - Macquarie Park (Gordon Street), Dixie Park (Aston Street), Findlay Park (Findlay Avenue), Upper Oxley Oval (Pacific Drive), Thrumster Sporting Complex (College Drive) and Wayne Richards Park (Koala Street).
The community consultation also included an alternate option to upgrade the Port Macquarie Olympic Pool site in Gordon Street.
The consultation yielded 880 survey responses and 57 written submissions.
The site selection evaluation process included the community feedback and the outcomes of a site selection workshop.
The workshop involved representatives across council divisions to identify and consider further planning considerations for each option.

Meanwhile, the controversial proposed orbital road is on the council meeting agenda through several items.
They are a report on transport network improvements including the proposed orbital road project, two items relating to Lake Innes Nature Reserve and another about the proposed orbital road investigation area.
Cr Mike Cusato will raise a proposal to investigate the impact on the strategic business case development of removing the "high community impact" route.

The primary airport access road has been separated from the orbital road project investigations.
The council meeting begins at 5.30pm on Wednesday, September 18 at the Burrawan Street council chambers.
