Grants are open to help maintain and conserve heritage listed properties within the Hastings.
Owners of eligible properties can apply for a heritage grant through Port Macquarie-Hastings Council.
The council, with support from the NSW Heritage Branch, offers the grants which typically support conservation and maintenance.
For every $1 the council contributes, the successful applicant needs to contribute $2.
Up to $3000 is available for heritage item projects and up to $2000 to projects for contributory buildings in conservation areas.
Mid North Coast Maritime Museum received a $407 grant in 2017-2018 towards the electrical rewiring of its Pilot Boat Shed.
The museum's secretary, Jan Howison, said the project addressed a safety issue.
She encouraged others, particularly small organisations, to apply for the heritage grants.
Mrs Howison advised potential applicants to do their homework before applying for the grants including to ensure the project met heritage requirements.
Applications close on October 13.
More information is available on the council's website.
