The centre is coordinating firefighters on the Mid-North Coast and Hastings as they attend 27 separate incidents since Friday, September 6 in difficult conditions.

Crews responded to 21 bush and grass fires, a motor vehicle accident, two structure fires and three public assists involving police or ambulances.

RFS district officer Stuart Robb said temperatures reached 30 degrees and winds in excess of 60km per hour on September 6 adding to difficulties.

"The resulting fire danger rating was extreme and a total fire ban was declared from midnight on the Thursday (September 5)," he said.

"Temperatures eased on Saturday and Sunday however winds across the district remained strong with a resulting fire danger rating of very high.

"There are eight fires that remain active across the district. Two are being controlled at Kerriki (1747 ha) and Thunderbolts Way (1297 ha) while the remaining six fires are under control.

"Strong winds are forecast for Monday and Tuesday with conditions starting to ease from Tuesday afternoon through to the end of the week."

NSW RFS Mid Coast crews responded to 241 bush and grass Fires, 50 motor vehicle accidents and 131 good intent calls from July 1 to August 25.

NSW RFS crews is being assisted by Forestry Corporation staff, National Parks and Wildlife Service firefighters.

All fire permits remain suspended on Monday, September 9 due to a very high fire danger rating.

Wauchope Rural Fire Brigade is hosting their Get Ready Weekend open day from 10am to 2pm on Sunday, September 15.

Bonny Hills Rural Fire Brigade is hosting a Get Ready Day on Saturday, September 14.

Camden Haven Rural Fire Brigade members will be available to talk about bush fire safety tips at their station in Kew on Saturday, September 14 from 10am to 2pm. There will also be a free barbecue.

North Shore Rural Fire Brigade are hosting an information session from 9am to noon on September 14 at the Settlement Point Ferry.
