SAINT Joseph's Regional College tuned up for the state titles in three weeks by winning the Diocesan carnival in Port Macquarie on Thursday.

Their year 9/10 girls team went through undefeated in six matches to defeat Xavier College Ballina 38-29 in the final.
Coach Kelly Croft said it was a pleasing result for the team after they were beaten by Trinity College in last year's final.
"They're just kids that never say die," she said.
"They're very good athletes and play a lot of sports. They're very determined to do their best and to win.
"They're very competitive."
St Joseph's were rarely challenged in the final after jumping out to an early lead.
"We beat Xavier in the pool game and only beat them by two points, but in the final the girls stepped up their game a lot," Croft said.
"After the first five minutes they were on top the whole time."
The Port Macquarie school will represent one of eight regions in the state titles at Sydney at the end of the month.
"While the girls are all good netballers, there are two of the team that aren't netballers and are basketballers," Croft said.
"It was a good hit out to get the girls together."
