The man has been in custody for three weeks and he appeared before Magistrate Price.
He appeared to bow and shake his head on several occasions during the hearing.
He has pleaded guilty to contravening an AVO and stalking and intimidation.
Court documents show that an interim AVO was served on the man on February 6, 2019, however the accused continued to phone and text the victim, sometimes hundreds of times each day.
The man was also alleged to have attended the home of the victim on two occasions every evening.
His solicitor said his client wants the matters dealt with.
"My client would be seeking an adjournment, given he has substance abuse issues," his solicitor said.
"Bail was (originally) refused, he has been in jail for three weeks and has learnt a hard lesson."
Magistrate Price said given the range of matters an intensive corrections order could be considered.
"I note that he has pleaded guilty to the intimidation and that could go against him in a bail application," the magistrate said.
"I don't want to give any false hopes."
Magistrate Price formally refused bail and set a sentencing date for October 16.
