MATT Broderick's first half strike was enough to see Port United progress to their second grand final in three years on Saturday.

Broderick could have added a second from the penalty spot, but had his spot kick saved as United held off Wallis Lake 1-0 at Dixie Park.
It handed the Green Bloods another shot at ending a championship drought extending almost two decades on September 14.
Coach Nathan Wade was pleased with the way his side bounced back following a surprise 2-0 defeat to Macleay Valley Rangers a fortnight ago.
"It was great to get the response from the lads because I said to them we hadn't gotten into this position by chance," Wade said.
"We've played well during the year, so let's get back to what we've been doing and they certainly did that."
Josh Casey pulled the strings and was industrious in midfield, supplying the through ball for Matt Bale who cut the ball back to Broderick who found the side of the net.
But Broderick still had some work to do.
"By the time Brods got it, they had raced back in front of the goals so he had to take his time, trap it and still beat three defenders with his shot," Wade said.
It's only been 19 years, but I think our players are looking forward to the challenge.
- Port United coach Nathan Wade
"It was pretty important to bounce back because you don't want to go into another semi with two losses in a row and it was quite pleasing to get the win against a quality side like Wallis."
The win saw United cap off an undefeated season at Dixie Park.
"We had the home advantage so we had to make use of that," the coach said.
"The way we've played this year, they deserved to make the grand final so that's a weight off your mind in a sense you're not having to play next week to try and get there."
Either Wallis or Port Saints stand between United and grand final glory after Saints ended reigning champions Macleay Valley Rangers' season with a 4-2 victory in Kempsey.
"It's only been 19 years (since United's last grand final win), but I think our players are looking forward to the challenge," Wade said.
"They're quite excited to take on that challenge; it's not like there's a big weight on their back.
"Whoever we play we're not too worried about."
Wade didn't feel having another week off would be an issue.
"That won't be a concern for us fitness-wise," he said.
"The main thing is we don't have to worry about yellow cards or people getting injured next week and missing the grand final so we'll have our first 13 firing and ready to go."
