THREE goals in four minutes proved too much for MacKillop College to overcome in a 3-1 loss to Byron Bay High School in their under-15 boys Bill Turner Cup round-of-16 clash on August 20.

The Port Macquarie school appeared set to head to the sheds well in the game at 0-0, but a classy header from Byron Bay's Hand Addis in the shadows of oranges put Byron Bay ahead.
Addis added another a minute later before Jack Crabtree also got on the scoresheet to round out a scoring blitz that left MacKillop shell shocked at the break.
Coach Dom Ashe said the opening goal was well worked, but admitted defensive errors played significant roles in the second and third goals.
"(The first goal) was a very well-placed header and that was the straw that broke the camel's back," Ashe said.
"No sooner did that goal get scored, there was a defensive back pass which their striker did an S-manoeuvre and got in between the keeper and our centre back and slotted what was a very easy goal.
"That was two back-to-back and the third was another defensive lapse."
Ashe was pleased with the way his side responded in the second half, with Cayden Briscoe's early strike handing them a lifeline.
But they had left themselves with too much work to do.
"Their goalkeeper was quite good, but our execution was poor; we certainly had enough shots on goal to get back on level terms," the coach said.
It was a role reversal from MacKillop's round-of-32 clash with Coffs Harbour High School.
"That game we played Coffs they had far more shots on us, but they didn't execute and that was the same story for us against Byron Bay," Ashe said.
"We didn't execute to our ability."
