The Saints struck out against the Redbacks, delivering two unanswered goals to stake their claim in the Premier League First Grade finals at Wayne Richards Park on Saturday, August 24.
Saints coach Darrell Pascoe said the win was a fair result on a windy day at the park.
"In the first half we had a breeze behind us and I thought we did well to get a couple of goals," he said.
"In the second half the breeze picked up in intensity and we needed to work really hard defensively, we managed to do that.
"Another exciting game between us and Camden Haven, they are always great.
"What I really like about our squad is how we share our goals around and it's pleasing to see that any guy can do the job. I'm comfortable we've got guys who can put the ball in the net.
"I'll add my two Tacking Point Tavern player of the matches, in first grade was Sal Wamara who scored our two goals. Fabian Medici is providing solid performances week after week in the Reserve Grade.
"We are still only a young and developing club, to have our full squad back is very good for us.
"I couldn't be happier with both grades progressing."
It was a dedicated goal-fest in the Reserve Grade with the Saints bashing in five goals and Kempsey Saints replying with three at Findlay Park on August 24.
Port Saints have managed an above-average eight wins and five losses, while Kempsey sat one spot ahead on the ladder with nine wins and four losses.
