Ditto's Keep Safe Adventure Show was hosted by the Bravehearts personal safety program to educate St Joseph's Primary School students in Port Macquarie on Tuesday, August 20.

The show promotes learning about body ownership and the right to be safe from an early age.

It aims to educate and reduce the risk of child sexual assault, family violence and bullying.

Assistant principal mission Ann Thargate said the campaign is a great learning opportunity.

"Bravehearts is a wonderful way to teach our kids personal safety in a child friendly, non-fearful engaging way," said Mrs Thargate.

"It's child protection in a child friendly, non-fearful engaging setting."

The education campaign teaches children aged two and three years old about having the right to feel safe with people, saying no if there are feelings of being unsafe and tell adults about child sexual assault.

The personal safety campaign has been received by a record 1600 children this year on the Mid-North Coast.

Kindergarten teacher Sarah McKinnon said the focus is always about teaching children how to stay safe.

"I think they are very aware at a young age and they are trying to make the right choices," said Mrs McKinnon.

"Shows like this are a different medium for the kids, it gets them engaged and listening.

"We are really excited that Bravehearts have come to the school and given us this opportunity."

The show has already been featured in Wauchope, Port Macquarie and Lake Cathie. It is expected to be shown in Herons Creek on Thursday, August 22.
