With rugby union and Hastings League grand finals in the Port Macquarie-Hastings and the Group Three preliminary final in Kempsey being played out this weekend, any advantage is welcome.
According to meteorologist with weatherzone Jacob Cronje players will be in for a treat for this Saturday's rugby union grand final in Port Macquarie and the Hastings League decider in Wauchope.
The Group Three preliminary final at Kempsey is on Sunday.
Saturday's rugby union grand final and Hastings League decider will be played in glorious sunshine, Mr Cronje said.
The Vikings will take on Coffs Harbour Snappers at Oxley Oval while the Laurieton Hotel Stingrays will be looking to down the South West Rocks Marlins to claim their inaugural piece of silverware in the Hastings League.
Saturday will start off as a crisp morning of around seven degrees.
Mr Cronje said the maximum temperature will top between 23 and 24 degrees, although there is a predicted southerly change later in the day.
"We will see a late afternoon and evening southerly change which will cool things down," he said.
"Temperatures in the early evening will be in the high teens.
"It will feel a bit colder with that southerly change.
"The winds on Saturday will start from the southwest at 10 to 15 kilometres per hour but starting to strengthen late in the morning as they start turning southerly.
"These winds look strongest by about mid-afternoon and early evening to 20 to 25km/h."
Sunday's Group Three final at Verge Street, Kempsey between the Port City Breakers and the Macleay Valley Mustangs will also start somewhat crisp at around seven degrees.
There will be more cloud with some north easterly winds arriving later in the morning. The winds could get up to 25 to 30km/h later in the day.
Cloud cover will increase with a maximum temperature of around 23 degrees.
"The clouds will roll in late in the morning and the afternoon will be partly cloudy," he said.
