It will be held on Friday, September 6 at Port City Bowling Club.
The afternoon will kick off at 12pm with a free BBQ and complimentary drink for all bowlers, with the bowling beginning at 1pm. Great prizes are up for grabs, including in a number of novelty events, including best-dressed team, best-looking toes and fanciest feet.
A team of four players is $120 and registrations close on 3 September.
The Mayor's Sporting fund has raised more than $320,000 since 1999, with all funds going to young local athletes of the Port Macquarie-Hastings, helping them to compete at elite sporting events.
We only need to look at the achievements of previous recipients through the Mayor's Sporting Fund to know that this region will continue to produce exceptional sporting talent.
Some of our local athletes who have benefited from funding have gone on to represent Australia, including Olympian James Magnussen, Paralympian Ryley Batt, hockey player Annika Toohey and golfer Oliver Payne.
"We're definitely a sporting mad region, with lots of great facilities for young athletes to enjoy the sports they love," said Mayor Peta Pinson.
"The Bowls Day Challenge is one of the highlight events when it comes to fundraising for the Mayor's Sporting Fund, and I encourage everyone to pick your best team, join in the fun and if you can, try to beat my team on the bowling green this year!," Ms Pinson said.
