A 22-year-old Kempsey man will be eligible for parole on September 16, 2019 after being convicted of indecent assault and possessing child abuse material.

The man pleaded guilty to both charges in the Port Macquarie District Court on Wednesday, August 7.
He appeared before Judge Wass.
On the charge of indecent assault, the man was jailed for 12 months with a non-parole period of six months. The man was jailed for 14 months with a non-parole period of seven months for the possession of child abuse material.
Judge Wass sentenced the man to serve 20 months in jail with a non-parole period of 10 months.
That sentence expires in July 2020 and the man is eligible for parole in September 2019.
The indecent assault occurred between May 2015 and December 2016.
