This is a health concern for women and needs to be regarded as such. It is not the place for religion.
People are entitled to their personal beliefs but they are not entitled to foist those beliefs onto the health and well being of others.
Abortion is a personal and sometimes heartbreaking decision and the women making that choice deserve to be supported rather than face the risk of prosecution.
Decriminalising abortion won't lead to more abortions or more late term abortions ( nearly always done only when there is a non viable foetus, or the mother's life is at high risk).
Doctors aren't suddenly going to be like, yeehaw, let's rip this baby out just before birth because we can. The scare tactics are absurd and irresponsible.
I called our representative Melinda Pavey's office as she hasn't made her position on this bill known to us, the people she is representing.
I hope that she, as a woman but also as a parliamentarian will support the change in legislation.
And if you are a man who is against abortion then I hope you will take responsibility by not helping to create pregnancies which are not planned, and may need to be terminated.
