Around 20 men and women from the Dooralong Rehabilitation Centre teed off in the social golfing competition hosted by the Salvation Army on July 27.
The ambrose style tournament encouraging men and women on their journey to resist addiction was originally started in 2004.
Initially, 11 residents took part from Miracle Haven Drug and Rehabilitation Centre in February of that year.
Salvation Army member James Capner said the event is about inspiring people to see a life free of addiction.
"Addiction can easily occur to anyone of us. The young, old, poor and needy or those from very well to do and even loving families," said Mr Capner.
"Toward the end of their program it is not unusual for them to again fear or question the unknown.
"Their weekend visit to Port Macquarie and the opportunity to play golf is a celebration of sorts.
"It is their first real occasion to again join in and enjoy social interaction back within a safe and welcoming community.
"It is proof that one can feel comfortable and enjoy themselves without the need for drugs, alcohol or other addictions."
Teams were comprised of centre residents, staff and Port Macquarie residents.
The event is supported by Emerald Downs Golf Club, Port Trophies and Port Aloha Motel.
