The Hastings Landscapes Exhibition composed of 45 artworks is on display at Port Macquarie Library from July 15 to 29.
Original artworks, reproductions of older paintings, etchings and sketches were collected by Local historian and author David Martin for the event.
Port Macquarie resident Kevin Piddick said he could trace his roots through the generations to the first fleet, and found the exhibition very nostalgic.
"Looking at the paintings and drawings there is definitely some nostalgia for the way things were," said Mr Piddick.
"I've travelled extensively, seen many art exhibitions and don't usually attend art exhibitions in Port Macquarie.
"This one is particularly good and my favourite artwork, SS Macquarie by in Ambrose Carr, is done in vivid colours."
It's been two centuries since the first Hastings landscape artworks were created by Lieutenant Phillip Parker King in 1819.
