Now is the time for local residents to consider which projects will provide the most benefit to their local area and choose what they would like funded as part of the NSW Government's My Community Project program.

Local residents can cast an online vote for between three and five of 22 nominated projects.

Local projects on the list include a wellness centre for Liberty Domestic and Family Violence and Specialist Services, a horse riding facility in Hannam Vale and a pioneer learning hub for St Agnes parish.

Member for Port Macquarie Leslie Williams described the program as "innovative" and "exciting".

"The program is putting decision-making back in the hands of community members to weigh in on their top picks for projects in the region," Mrs Williams said.

"It's very easy to vote - all you need is your Medicare card and a free MyServiceNSW account, which also provides quick access to a wide range of NSW Government services such as the CTP Green Slip refund for eligible policyholders."

CEO of Liberty Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Services, Kelly Lamb, said the proposed Liberty Women's Wellness Centre would provide a safe, supportive space for local women to connect, learn and grow.

"Much more than an op shop, the Women's Wellness Centre will help women to achieve their full potential, especially those who have experienced domestic violence, isolation or need support," Mrs Lamb said.

"It will be stocked with donations of pre-loved goods, have areas for conversations over coffee and a place for kids to play.

"Women will be able to access a range of services and we'll host affordable activities, such as hairdressing, cooking classes, resume writing and interview skills.

"We're asking the community to vote for the Liberty Women's Wellness Centre and help us improve the lives of many local families."

Dr Robbie Lloyd from Mid North Coast Community College is hoping their "A Free Ride" recycled bikes project will be successful.

"The scheme is designed to encourage more people to get on bikes and ride around Port Macquarie's beautiful foreshores and beyond," Dr Lloyd said.

"It also encourages recycling of bikes, and using that project to build skills among young people who are seeking new pathways to work."

Residents in the Port Macquarie electorate can view eligible projects and vote online here or by visiting their Service NSW Centre.

Voting concludes on 15 August with successful projects to be announced from September 2019.
