Ten teams will compete for more than $3000 in prizes and custom made trophies at Beef in the Vines, hosted by Cassegrain Winery from 11am to 6pm on Sunday, July 21.
Teams are moving out of the frying pan and into the fire as they take on four categories at the Australasian Barbecue Alliance (ABA) accredited tournament in front of thousands of fans.
The hotplate heroes are fired up for the beef steak, ribs, brisket and chef's choice rounds,
The overall winners trophy is a sweet but savory reward along with $500 prize money, which was claimed by the Manning Valley Natural Smokers in 2018.
Cassegrain Winery marketing and business development coordinator Shannon Ward said event goers could enjoy some the teams efforts this year and relax at a great family day out.
"This is our second year of the ABA accredited light barbecue competition," she said.
"This year we have ten teams competing for the King or Queen Of Beef, they can have up to four people on each team.
"They will come on site on Saturday, prepare and start cooking before submitting different cuts of beef on Sunday around 2pm.
"We also have five caters so people can come along and try some food, three will be barbecue and also one of the teams will have an offering available to eat for the public.
"This year there is going to be a large selection of amazing food on offer."
The event will also host a judging panel of residents and Cassegrain staff, as well as local barbecue enthusiast and pitmaster Adam Roberts and activities for the kids.
"We will have a panel of judges including Port Macquarie citizens and Cassegrain staff," said Ms Ward.
"There is a whole list of what the judges should be looking for.
"For people it's just a good opportunity to come out, listen to the music, try some barbecue and enjoy the day."
There will also be local wine, beer provided by Hops and Tales Brewery and live music with Jackson Rafferty and Leigh I'Anson Music throughout the day.
To top off the day there will be more than 20 stalls including barbecue tasting plate, Pasta by Leonella Pasta, Pitt Bull Smokehouse, pulled beef soft tacos by Adam Roberts, Char Bar Catering and Round & Round Coffee.
