While they only have two survivors from their 2018 team that were pipped in the semi-final, team manager Sarah Hemsley was hopeful of again going deep into the final day of the tournament.

Twelve months ago they lost 1-0 to Newcastle at Taree.

"It's a fairly new side this year as most of them have gone up an age group," she said.

"We're going down feeling confident because they did very well last year."

Hemsley said coach Jarrod Smith had created a well-drilled side with most of the girls playing the sport for almost 10 years.

"They're a very strong side who play with good structure so Jarrod has done a great job with them," she said.

Port Macquarie will take their place in division two fresh from a strong showing at last month's Regional Challenge gala day.

"They went well in the Regional Challenge a few weeks back so that was a good warm-up which was the idea of it against Taree, Coffs and the Port boys teams," Hemsley said.

"Most of the teams will be competitive down there."

Players such as Lilianah Williams and Lauren Nichols will be ones to watch when the tournament starts at the McGlynn Sporting Complex on Thursday.
