Each year level were asked to donate different items as part of an annual initiative from the social justice group.

Students Georgie Maher and Kira Lewis say they are delighted students have donated over 1000 products.

"During the last two weeks of school we have asked people to donate different hygiene products to help those in need," Georgie said.

"We divided up each year level and some donated toothpaste and toothbrushes others did shampoo and conditioner."

The drive was to support Mick Gilmore and the team at the Youth Hub who provide showers and hygiene products to the disadvantaged in Port Macquarie.

"This was the second year we have done the hygiene drive and we have collected over 1600 products for people to use," Kira said.

"I think it is a good thing to do so that we can help people who need it. We use shampoo and brush our teeth every day but some people can't do that and to know we are helping them is good."

Teacher Alice McGrath said she was proud of everyone who contributed to the social justice drive.

"The drive has done amazingly well this year and we are so thankful to our generous school community who contributed in our collecting," Ms McGrath said.
