A NINE goal to three second half performance was enough for Port Macquarie Magpies to easily account for Sawtell-Toormina Saints at Wayne Richards Park on Saturday.

The Pies returned to the winner's list with a comprehensive 14.8 (92) to 8.4 (52) victory despite the red cards of Kye Taylor and Tom Marmo in the second half.
Captain Jesse Schmidt led the way with three goals although he admitted Taylor was the best on ground until he received his marching orders.
"Our best player by a very long way was Kye Taylor until he got red carded halfway through the third quarter which was a bit of push and shove after I got a late whack," Schmidt said.
"There were no punches thrown, no nothing, but the umpire said it had the ability to escalate into something much more and red carded him which was not even close to being a right decision.
"Discipline is one thing we (need to control) and I thought the umpiring was very ordinary, but they're trying their best.
"If they make the wrong calls they make the wrong calls and if they make the right ones nothing gets spoken about."
Schmidt admitted Port Macquarie took a while to settle into a rhythm in a niggling contest where the scores were locked at 5.3 (33) at the long break.
"We didn't play near our best, but the second half with players down we played well and I think we were a bit too quick to get the ball forward instead of waiting for an option," he said.
"The most impressive thing was when it got a bit dirty our aggression at the ball was good and we had a weight of numbers getting to contests.
"The end result was where we would have liked to have been, it just took us a little while to get going."
Earlier, the Magpies women also claimed a comfortable win with a 4.5 (29) to 1.7 (13) victory.
