They will be particularly disappointed that it happened at Wayne Richards Park to blot their home record.
The Pies have the chance to address that this week when another home match brings the visit of Sawtell-Toormina Saints.
This fixture looms as a danger match for the Magpies.
The Saints looked like an improved outfit last week with better structures and more efficient movement of the ball.
Key to their chances of beating a top two team for the first time in 2019 will be the quality and quantity of players that are prepared to travel.
This hasn't been the Saints' strong suit this season, hopefully last week's effort encourages more players to ensure they're available.
The Magpies women will be keen to get back to winning ways and the visit of the Saints can't come around quickly enough.
Kicking for goal has been an issue that has reared its head on several occasions for Port.
Last week was just one of those times and it cost the Magpies the chance to claim victory.
Their line-up is as strong as any in the competition with quality players right across the park so if the goal kicking yips can be fixed they will be extremely hard to beat.
There is no doubt that Port will attack the match against Sawtell with a steely resolve as they look to make a statement that last week was a blemish.
