They again progressed to the under-15 girls zone final of the Bill Turner Cup on Tuesday with a 2-0 win over St Columba Anglican School in Port Macquarie.
Maddie Lynch and Jess Watts both found the back of the net in the second half to give their side a chance to improve on their efforts from 12 months ago.
On that occasion they were beaten at the same stage of the tournament.
Coach Michael Morson was pleased they overcame a sluggish start that saw them level with SCAS at the break.
"We were playing okay, but weren't creating enough chances to get a goal early on," he said.
"SCAS really pushed forward on the counter-attack against us which left us exposed a few times."
Morson said there were a few factors that contributed to the slow start before they found their groove in the second half.
The match was only put beyond doubt in the final minutes.
"We haven't had a lot of time training together with weather and girls having lots of other commitments so we'll get a bit more time before the next round," he said.
"We have a big gala day for the diocesan soccer (next week) and then we will get a fair few training sessions in before we play the final for the zone."
Their opponents are yet to be decided, but were likely to be Great Lakes College.
Morson said they had a proud history of success in the under-15 girls division over the years.
"We have been pretty solid most years; we got knocked out in the zone final last year," Morson said.
"Prior to that a few years ago we got through to the last 16 in the state so there's a lot more rounds ahead.
"I've been coach the last six or seven years so I was saying to the girls the games get faster the further we go into the competition so we need to be fit."
SCAS coach Tony Judge was proud of the effort from his side.
"They didn't score their second goal until right at the end," he said.
"It's something for us to build on because we've played them earlier in the tournament previously, so we were lucky to get them a bit later this year."
