Cricket NSW Mid North Coast Manager Luke Miner said a maximum of up to $100,000 is available for all proposals across the Port Macquarie-Hastings local government area.

There will be no more than $15,000 available per application.

"We'd encourage any club to inform us of any project they might have and we will then decide which one will benefit the community the most as well," he said.

Member for Port Macquarie, Leslie Williams encouraged clubs and councils to take advantage of the opportunity to improve the quality and quantity of cricketing facilities across the electorate.

"The NSW government has ensured grassroots cricket in regional and suburban areas benefit from NSW hosting games at the women's and men's ICC T20 World Cup tournaments," Mrs Williams said.

"The NSW ICC T20 World Cup 2020 Legacy Fund enables local clubs and councils to improve local cricket facilities, increase participation and attract major cricket events.

"Our area has a very strong cricketing history and I urge the local cricket community to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity," Mrs Williams said.

Minister for Sport John Sidoti said the ICC T20 World Cup will be an amazing spectacle of the world's best male and female cricketers.

"The ICC T20 World Cup is the format's pinnacle competition and the atmosphere at games will be electric," Mr Sidoti said.

"Sydney will host 14 matches across the Men's and Women's ICC T20 World Cup tournaments, including three of the four semi-finals in both tournaments and the women's opening celebration at Sydney Showground Stadium between Australia and India.

"The T20 Legacy Fund is about giving back to local cricket clubs and I encourage clubs, associations and councils to take advantage of this once in a generation opportunity."

The Legacy Fund is part of the NSW Government's successful bid for matches in Sydney at the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 tournaments resulting in a $6 million investment over three years in new facilities and programs to drive participation.

Applications for the NSW ICC T20 World Cup 2020 Legacy Fund are open until July 8.
