The NSW public holiday for the Queen's Birthday falls on Monday, June 10 and many people often travel over the weekend to enjoy the mini break.
Mr Khoury said the price of fuel is dependent on the world oil price, which isn't expected to fluctuate before the weekend.
A current trend across many regional towns is that prices are falling and should continue to do so.
"We certainly shouldn't expect prices to go up," he said.
Mr Khoury said if prices do go up for the long weekend, it's clear that local companies are pushing up the prices artificially.
On Tuesday June 4, according to the Fuelcheck website, the most expensive unleaded petrol price in Port Macquarie could be found on Ocean Drive for 150.9.
The cheapest unleaded petrol price in Port Macquarie could be found at the Independent station on Gordon Street at 142.9.
In Wauchope four stations were selling unleaded petrol for 151.9.
However in the Camden Haven region, majority of stations were selling petrol for 144.9.
To get the best price possible when planning a road trip or driving holiday, motorists are encouraged to download the my nrma app to find the latest fuel prices across Sydney and NSW.
Mr Khoury said motorists can track their journey and check where it's cheapest to fill up their car.
He said it's important motorists continue to shop around to ensure they aren't paying too much.
Due to improved access online and 'real time' information through applications motorists no longer have to settle for expensive prices.
