Port Macquarie's victory over Sawtell-Toormina can be credited as much to defensive effort as it can to goals kicked.

The Magpies made it four wins on the trot in a comfortable 19.15 (129) to 4.4 (28) victory on Saturday at Wayne Richards Park.
For the first time in many years, the Saints were held scoreless in the opening term and limited to just one goal for the half.
At the same time, Port managed to land nine goals to hold a 59-point lead at the long break.
Captain Jesse Schmidt said the secret to their successful month had simply been due to everyone playing their roles well.
"The last two to three weeks we've had an even spread across the board; we haven't had any standout performers," he said.
"A lot of people are playing their roles."
The Magpies kicked five goals in each of the third and fourth quarters and were able to limit Sawtell to just three goals for the half.
Schmidt admitted it was satisfying to go on with the job.
"We had a few missed opportunities, but they have had the wood over us in over the last few years," he said.
Luke Boxhall played his first senior match of the season and finished as the leading scorer with six goals.
Kaleb Crowhurst added three goals and three other players kicked two apiece.
"We've got a really good culture here at the moment and it's not just because we're winning," Schmidt said.
"No one wants to be the star and knows if they play their role the team will benefit from it."
