After a successful inaugural event in 2018, Drawn From Here, an annual exhibition of art journals, is back to once again showcase the unique diversity of our local arts.
"The project is open to all greater Port Macquarie residents," said organiser, Katherine Appleby, "including writers, photographers, painters, sewers, drawers, printmakers, and more."
On registering, project participants receive an A5 art journal, which they can complete however they wish.
"Last year, we even had a participant create the artwork using pressed aluminium and another out of fabric and felt."
The only rule for the project, which carries an open theme, is that the journal must be used and that it must remain within its dimensions at no more than 10cm thick.
"In 2018, I was stunned at the sheer creative talent that lives in our region, unearthed by this project," said Katherine.
"It thoroughly surpassed my expectations and I can't wait to see what this year's project will reveal."
Once again, the project has been sponsored by Sunset Framing and Gallery who have offered their gallery space for the two-week exhibition at their new location on Central Road, from Saturday September 28 to Saturday , October 12.
"Sunset Framing and Gallery have always been supportive of our local, creative community, and we are excited to be supporting another project that will expose and exhibit the incredible creative talent that exists in greater Port Macquarie," said gallery owner and framer Scott Rayner.
Creatives have until the end of July to register. To learn more and to register, visit www.portmacquariecreative.com.au/drawnfromhere2019
