Works have recently begun for the expansion of the Ramada Resort Wyndham at Flynns Beach. Many adjoining property owners, myself included, are upset that we didn't get the opportunity to object to the original development plan. Only now, did we get notification of modification to the plan.

I believe this development will further restrict the movement of koalas and other wildlife along what is already a very narrow section of the "green corridor" running from Flynn Street to Ocean Street along Wrights Creek.
The Flynns Beach area already experiences problems with traffic congestion. This is only going to intensify with the construction of another 53 Ramada apartments, making this section of the corridor very hazardous for koalas.
Koalas are very territorial so where are they supposed to go in the meantime during construction? Also, it will take years for replacement saplings to grow.
Koalas are regularly sighted in this area and there have already been sad reports since clearing began.
Our koalas are threatened and we know how important protecting this green corridor is for their survival. Why do we then, approve developments like this?
