I was sick at heart to see such crassness leak into our local politics, emblazoned on banners, placed in our letterboxes and even defacing Oakeshott posters.
Nationals NSW State Director, Ross Cadell, says 'We wouldn't have done it if we didn't think it was honest.'
Well thinking doesn't make it so. The facts are that it was vicious, personal and dishonest.
Regardless of how we voted or the election outcome, we should all work together for truth in political advertising; after all it is illegal in any other advertising.
Come on Cowper. We're better than this.
And to his credit, Pat Conaghan knows it.
